Job Title: Full-Time Ceramic Pottery Glaze Sprayer

Location: Hadley Pottery, 1570 Story Ave, Louisville, KY 40206

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Starting Pay: $16/hr with a performance-based increase to $18/hr within the first 6 months

 Benefits:

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Ceramic Pottery Glaze Sprayer to join our production team. This role is responsible for preparing and applying glazes to pottery pieces using spray equipment, ensuring smooth, consistent, and decorative finishes that meet Hadley Pottery’s high quality standards.

Glaze Preparation

  • Mix and test glazes by adding pre-mixed glaze into mixing tanks, adjusting for proper viscosity.

  • Maintain inventory of glaze materials and communicate purchasing needs to supervisor.

  • Perform quality control checks on sprayed pieces, touching up uneven areas and reporting issues.

 

Spray Application

  • Set up, operate, and maintain glaze spraying equipment, including spray booth, compressors, spray guns, and ventilation systems.

  • Apply thin, even coats of glaze to pieces while rotating them on a banding wheel.

  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects such as drips or uneven coverage, making adjustments as needed.

  • Thoroughly clean all equipment and the spray booth to prevent contamination and maintain efficiency.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects.

  • Ability to work in a production environment, meet daily output goals, and maintain high quality.

  • Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a production environment.

  • All training is provided.
