M.A. Murals

Mary Alice Hadley painted murals directly onto doors, walls, and everyday objects throughout the Story Avenue factory between the 1940s and 1950s. In 2025, we photographed a selection of these murals in their original spaces, preserving their marks, wear, and decades of everyday use. Each mural is printed in editions of 50, the first of each auction Saturday the 29th.

The Process

We captured these murals in collaboration with Louisville’s State Film Lab, documenting their surfaces exactly as they appear today, including natural wear, scratches, and signs of daily use. Each mural is printed in editions of 50 on museum-grade, 100% cotton Hahnemühle paper. Each print is secured by Peer, preserving an authenticity signature and ensuring the mural’s history stays connected to the physical print.
