Name or short text painted on
Any name, phrase, or short text applied freehand in our signature style. Mugs, plates, bowls, platters. Many folks love our "Thank You" and "Happy Birthday" options.
Monogrammed pieces
One, two, or three initials, painted the way monograms were meant to look: confident, clean, and built into the piece. Not printed on it.
Baby and birth pieces
Name, birthdate, weight, length. Everything that matters about the day they arrived, on something that will still be in the family when they grow up.
Wedding and registry
Names, a date, or a monogram on one piece or a full set. Hadley pottery is made to be used every day, which means it's made to be married into.

What is personalized pottery?
Hadley's personalized ware has been part of our story since the very beginning. Mary Alice Hadley started making custom pottery in 1939 — small batches, made by hand, for friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who found their way to her. That tradition hasn't changed. Every personalized piece is still hand crafted, hand-painted, and fired in our kilns in Louisville, KY.
What can be personalized?
A lot of products can be personalized!
Depending on the piece, you can add names, monograms, short messages like "Happy Birthday" or "Thank You," or wedding details including bride and groom names and the date. Our birth plates capture the full picture — baby's name, birth date, height, and weight. And for the pet people, several pieces can be personalized with your pet's name.

How long does personalized pottery take to ship?
Personalized pieces typically ship within 8–10 weeks. Every piece is made from scratch and hand-painted specifically for you — that takes time, and we think it's worth it. If you're ordering for a special occasion, we recommend getting your order in early.
How do I place a personalized order?
The easiest way is online. Our site walks you through the process and captures everything we need to get started. If you'd prefer to talk through options first, we're happy to help by phone or email.

Can I return or exchange a personalized item?
Personalized orders are final sale. Because every piece is custom made specifically for you, we aren't able to accept returns or exchanges.
What if I make a mistake on my order?
Don't panic.
Every personalized order is reviewed by our team before it ever reaches the paint department. If something looks off (a typo, an unusual spelling, anything out of place), we'll give you a call to confirm before we start.
We want to get it right as much as you do.
Can I have my personalized order shipped directly to the recipient?
Absolutely. At checkout, simply enter the recipient's shipping address and we'll take it from there.
