The owl luminaries are a long tradition at Hadley. Cast clay that is glazed to a shine, they carry light in a way that is both simple and lasting. Mary Alice had a tradition of welcoming neighbors to Halloween parties at her Louisville home. These owls carry that same spirit forward, casting a candle’s glow season after season.
The smallest of the set, sized for a single tea light. Its soft glow fits on a kitchen windowsill, a nightstand, or in the corner of a bookshelf. Just the sort of piece Mary Alice might have set out for her Halloween guests.

Mary Alice Hadley created most of our current designs and all designs are inspired by M.A. Hadley. Every artist was trained by a protégé of Mrs. Hadley. Genuine Hadley Pottery pieces have the M.A. Hadley hand-painted signature on the bottom or side of the piece.
